Now that the year is halfway over, I thought I’d check-in on my progress with my 2025 reading goals. My goals for 2025 are to:

  1. Read at least 60 books.
  2. Read all of my book club books.
  3. Read all of my 2025 Book of the Month picks.
  4. Read 12 of the books on my Book of the Month backlist.

I’ve been keeping track of my progress on my 2025 Goals & Tracking page.

Yearly Goal

My goal for the year is to read 60 books and I’ve only read 16. Not reading anything in March and April really killed my progress.

So far, my favorite books are:

  • Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
  • Phantasma by Kaylie Smith
  • First-Time Caller by BK Borison
Book Club

I made a goal to read all of my book club books this year. I’ve only read two out of six. I tried to read March’s and May’s books but ended up DNFing them.

Book of the Month

I made a goal to read all of my 2025 Book of the Month picks. I’ve only read three out of ten.

Book of the Month Backlist

I made a goal to read 12 of the books on my Book of the Month backlist. I’ve only read two so far.

Conclusion

I haven’t had quite an abysmal reading year as 16 books isn’t anything to laugh at. It does feel a little disappointing since I know I can read a lot more. Because there’s no way I’m going to accomplish any of my goals, I’ve decided to modify them a bit. I want to enjoy what I read instead of stressing about not reading enough. The changes to my goals for 2025 are:

  • Read 48 books.
  • Read 9 of my book club books.
  • Read 75% of my 2025 Book of the Month books.
  • Read 9 of the books on my Book of the Month backlist.

I’m really happy with my reading last year. I read more in 2024 than I have ever read in a year before. I’d love to try to surpass that goal this year.

My goals for 2025 are to:

  1. Read at least 60 books.
  2. Read all of my book club books.
  3. Read all of my 2025 Book of the Month picks.
  4. Read 12 of the books on my Book of the Month backlist.

I’ll keep track of my progress on my 2025 Goals & Tracking page.

Can you believe 2024 is over? I feel like this year flew by. I thought I’d evaluate my 2024 reading goals. My reading goals were:

  1. Read at least 30 books.
  2. Read 50% of my book club books.
  3. Read at least 15 of my Book of the Month books.

I’ve kept track of my reading on my 2024 Goals & Tracking page.

Yearly Goal

My goal for the year was to read at least 30 books and I read 53. 53 is the most I’ve ever read in one year!

I also DNFd 5 books due to boredom, not being able to get into the story, or losing interest part way through. The only book I think I’d consider trying to read again when I’m in the mood is A CURSE SO DARK AND LONELY.

I made a goal to read at least 50% of my IRL book club books this year. I’ve currently read 3 out of 6. To reach my goal, I only need to read three more books.

Book of the Month

I made a goal to read 15 of my Book of the Month books. I’ve only read 2 so far. It looks like I’m quite a bit behind on this one. I think I better stop rereading books I’ve already read.

Conclusion

Even though I’m behind on my BOTM Challenge, I’m pretty happy with my reading progress, especially since I didn’t get much reading done in March and April thanks to my health. I’ve really loved all the books I’ve read this year and I can’t wait to discover more books to love during the last half of the year.

I had an abysmal reading year and didn’t accomplish any of my goals in 2023. This year, I’d like to read more and, hopefully, my goals will help me.

My goals for 2024 are:

  1. Read at least 30 books.
  2. Read 50% of my book club books.
  3. Read at least 15 Book of the Month books.
