Title: A Winter in New York
A WINTER IN NEW YORK was a heart-warming story about love, grief, heartbreak, forgiveness, healing, and found family. The setting was perfect and I loved the characters so much. I couldn’t get enough of them. I especially loved the chemistry and sexual tension between Iris and Gio.
Title: Yours Truly YOURS TRULY gave me all the feels. I literally laughed out loud a few times, which isn’t common for me when I read. (Chapter 32 is hilarious and the audiobook makes it even better.) I cried and I swore. I loved how Jimenez portrayed anxiety, depression, and trauma in this story. It felt so realistic. I loved that Jacob used skills he learned in therapy when his anxiety became too much for him. It reminded me DBT.
I loved Briana and Jacob. I loved their sense of humor. I loved their chemistry, banter, and sexual tension. Their romance was so swoony. I swore at them a couple of times because the miscommunication between the two of them was Olympic medal worthy.
Title: These Summer Storms I really enjoyed reading THESE SUMMER STORMS. So much family drama and I loved it! I really loved Alice. I felt so much sadness and anger on her behalf because of how her family treated her. I’m glad she and her siblings made up as much as they could and learned to step outside of their parents’ shadows. I also really loved Jack. I loved the sexual tension between him and Alice. I’m glad that he could give her what she needed in a partner and chose her over the money.
Title: Part of Your World PART OF YOUR WORLD was a fun opposites attract romance. I loved the setting of Wahkon, Minnesota and all the animals, especially Barrack Ollama (iykyk). I loved the idea of a white collar woman getting drawn into a blue collar world. I loved both Alexis and Daniel, their chemistry, and banter.
Even though PART OF YOUR WORLD is mostly fluff, it dealt with some hard topics–physical and emotional abuse, interactions between different classes, the idea of love in all its forms. I loved the emphasis on mental health and therapy, and recognizing abuse in all its forms and learning to walk away.
Title: Husbands & Lovers
I absolutely adored HUSBANDS & LOVERS. I was hooked from the prologue. It was a beautiful story of love, loss, and betrayal. I equally loved reading both Hannah’s and Mallory’s stories and loved how they fit together.
I knew why Mallory left and didn’t talk to Monk about Sam way before the reveal. I’m sad I was right, but I’m glad the story happened the way it did. I also feel so much for Hannah and her life. She lost so much. I’m glad Mallory and Paige figured out what happened to her and got to meet Károly in the end.
